On 12 and 13 August in Canistro Superiore and on 18 and 19 August in Canistro Inferiore the patronal feasts of Saint John the Baptist (san Giovanni Battista) take place; the municipality holds the Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista.
On the first Sunday of July the feast of the Madonna della Fonticella is held in Canistro Superiore. «Sapori d'autunno» in Canistro Superiore and the sagra della castagna (chestnut festival) in Canistro Inferiore are food and wine events held in October: typical products such as the Roscetta chestnut of the Roveto valley and the Rovetana olive are presented in the so-called «canistri», the baskets.
