The patron of Tagliacozzo is Saint Anthony of Padua, celebrated on 13 June and again on the last Sunday of August.
On the Sunday after Easter, the solemnity of the Holy Face and the feast of the Municipality are celebrated, with a procession of the ancient painting donated to the Duchy of Tagliacozzo by the Colonna family, depicting the suffering face of Jesus. On 13 January, instead, a procession is held from the Church of Santi Cosma e Damiano to the shrine of the Madonna dell'Oriente, commemorating the narrow escape from the 1915 Marsica earthquake and the 2009 L'Aquila earthquake. The town also holds the Castle of Tagliacozzo and the Church of Santa Maria del Soccorso.
