The patron of Ferrandina is Saint Roch, celebrated on 16 August.
The town's most important monument is the mother church of Santa Maria della Croce, built from 1490 and reworked inside at the end of the 18th century. It has three 16th-century portals and three Byzantine-style domes; it holds a wooden statue of the Madonna and Child from 1530 and two gilded statues depicting Frederick of Aragon and his wife, queen Isabella del Balzo.
The municipal territory also holds the ruins of the castle of Uggiano, from where, according to tradition, came the Dominican monks who built the town's first complete chapel, later becoming the church of the Purgatorio after an earthquake pushed them to move and found San Domenico. The church of the Purgatorio still holds a Saint Vincent Ferrer from the first half of the 18th century, the work of Antonio Sarnelli, and an old organ from 1700.
