The patron saint of Castelluccio Superiore is Saint Margaret of Antioch, celebrated on 20 July in the 16th-century mother church dedicated to her, with mass, a procession through the town's streets and the traditional lialò chant. During the procession, a collection of gifts also takes place among the faithful: the offerings gathered, mostly local specialities, are auctioned off by the town crier to fund the feast.
The town also venerates the Madonna del Soccorso, whose statue is carried, on the second Sunday of May, from the 17th-century church dedicated to her up to an altitude of 1,110 metres, following the old religious route marked by twelve characteristic stops; the statue returns to the mother church of Santa Margherita on the second Sunday of September, with a further feast. The town is twinned with the Brazilian city of Iúna, founded by emigrants from Castelluccio who, from 1875 to 1890, left Basilicata in search of a better life.
