The patron saint of Cetraro is Saint Benedict of Nursia, celebrated on 11 July in the Parish of San Benedetto Abate.
Every 11 July, the patron's statue, kept in the church dedicated to him, is carried in procession; it is then placed on the largest fishing boat and taken out to sea, followed by other fishing boats, boats and dinghies. The town also holds the Museum of the Bretti and the Sea of Cetraro and the «Filippo Lanza» municipal theatre.
