The patron of Plataci is San Giovanni Battista (Saint John the Baptist), celebrated on 24 June; in the calendar of religious feasts according to the Greek-Byzantine liturgy the feast also falls on the first Sunday after 23 September.
The village calendar also includes the feast of the Madonna di Costantinopoli, or Odigitria, deeply felt by the population for meanings that are not only religious but also social and propitiatory, the feast of San Rocco on 20 August and that of the Madonna del Monte on 21 August. Among the cultural initiatives is the Festival dei Piccoli Cantori Arbëreshë (Festival of Young Arbëreshë Singers), in which traditional Albanian songs are performed.
