The patron saint of Boscoreale is Our Lady of Mount Carmel, celebrated on 16 July.
The municipal territory holds numerous places of worship, including the parish churches of the Immaculate Conception and of San Giuseppe in the Marchesa district, as well as the church of Santa Maria Salòme and the parish of Sant'Anna in the Pellegrini district. Boscoreale is known worldwide for its national Antiquarium and for the archaeological excavations, which hold the remains of the ancient Roman villas buried by the 79 AD eruption of Vesuvius.
