The patron saint of Marano di Napoli is Saint Castrese, celebrated on 11 February in the mother church dedicated to him: built around 1600, it has three naves and an octagonal-plan baptismal font among the most significant features of its interior.
The patron's cult has left a deep mark on the town's toponymy: the parish of San Castrese remains today one of the main religious landmarks of the municipal territory, alongside other places of worship such as the church of the Santissima Annunziata and the oratory of the parish of San Ludovico d'Angiò.
