The patron of Monte di Procida is the Assumption of Mary, whose feast, celebrated on 15 August, is the most important celebration of the year: a feast particularly felt and emotionally lived as the moment of family reunion.
Over time, the Procidan settlers consolidated their presence on the Monte, and around the mid-17th century the first chapel was built, which would later become the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Cielo, still visited by many faithful today. Other recurring events include the Sagra del Mare Flegrea, the Palio Marinaro dell'Assunta and the Easter event ReCasatiello. The town also holds the Belvedere Stupor Mundi.
