The patron saint of San Giuseppe Vesuviano is Saint Joseph, celebrated on 19 March in the church named after him.
The feast is enlivened by the Piedigrotta Sangiuseppese, a folk festival of songs, music, floats and processions: the 1953 edition was presented as the «Piedigrotta Sangiuseppese della Stampa Democratica», combining the music and song festival with the celebrations for the September «Press Month». Since 2007, during the celebrations for Saint Leonard, the parish of the same name has organised the «Grande Festa della Tammorra Vesuviana» in the early days of November. The municipal territory also extends into the Vesuvius National Park.
