The patron saint of Altavilla Silentina is Saint Giles the Abbot, celebrated on 1 September.
The town also holds a special devotion to Saint Anthony of Padua: every year, on 13 June, the liturgical feast day, the saint's statue visits the town's families house by house, following a tradition born from an old vow made for a miracle attributed to the saint. The town also holds the Foce Sele-Tanagro nature reserve and the Excavations of San Lorenzo.
