The patrons of Pertosa are Saint Benedict of Nursia, celebrated on 21 March, to whom the Chiesa di San Benedetto is dedicated, and Saint Victor of Caesarea, on 14 May.
The municipality of 705 inhabitants in the province of Salerno holds the Pertosa-Auletta Caves, with the MIdA geological and botanical museums, and since 1996 every August the ethnic music festival «Negro Festival» has been held in the square outside the Caves.
