The patrons of Rofrano are the Madonna di Grottaferrata, San Giovanni Battista and San Nicola di Bari; on 8 September the church of Santa Maria di Grottaferrata is celebrated. An important celebration is also held by the community of Rofranesi in Melbourne.
Popular tradition tells that some farmers found a small statue of the Madonna hidden among the brushwood, which asked them to build a church; it is this church that is celebrated on 8 September. The municipality is also part of the Parco Nazionale del Cilento, Vallo di Diano e Alburni.
