The patron of Ponza is Saint Silverius, celebrated on 20 June in the Church of Santi Silverio e Domitilla: it is the island's most important feast, to which the Ponzesi are deeply devoted.
The festivities run from 9 June to 20 July, but the climax remains 20 June, when the procession solemnly leaves the Church of the Santissima Trinità and proceeds first by land, then traditionally by sea, on boats. The town also holds the Punta della Guardia lighthouse and the Torre Borbonica.
