The patron saint of Anzio is Saint Anthony of Padua, protector of fishermen, celebrated on 13 June with numerous traditional events of religious devotion involving the whole town, aided also by the commitment of the local Confraternity. After the solemn Mass, the procession crosses the streets of the old town to the Innocentian harbour: there the saint's statue is loaded onto a boat and, after a short course at sea, the striking blessing of the town, seen from the sea, takes place.
Every year the Palio del Mare is also held, in which Anzio's various districts compete for the title in a regatta of J24 boats on the waters facing the harbour, a place of traditional regattas organised by the town's sailing clubs linked to the sea.
