The patron of Artena is Saint Mary Magdalene, celebrated on 22 July.
The town's main event is the Procession of the Madonna delle Grazie, held uninterruptedly every year since 1731, on the Saturday before the third Sunday of May. The Madonna delle Grazie has been venerated in the town since the 15th century and stays covered from public view for almost a year, unveiled only the Friday before the procession: it departs from its usual home to reach the Sanctuary of Santa Maria, the church at the town's highest point. Artena also holds the Palazzo Borghese and the Collegiate Church of Santa Croce.
