On 4 August Gorga, a municipality of 767 inhabitants in the metropolitan city of Rome, celebrates its patron Saint Dominic (san Domenico).
Under the plateau of Gorga the limestone is riddled with holes. The cave of Campo di Caccia, explored for years by the Lepinia project, goes down about six hundred and ten metres: it was the deepest in Lazio until, in 2006, it was overtaken by the Ouso di Passo Pratiglio, which opens on the same plateau but in the territory of Supino.
On paper Gorga is in the metropolitan city of Rome, but the people here feel closer to the Frosinone country: from its beginnings the village depended on Anagni, and not only culturally, militarily as well. Above the houses rises Monte San Marino, which reaches one thousand three hundred and eighty-seven metres.
