On 1 May Nemi, a municipality of 1,925 inhabitants in the province of Rome, celebrates its patrons the holy apostles Philip and James with a solemn procession; the town is famous for its Strawberry Festival.

The patronal feast of the holy apostles Philip and James is celebrated in Nemi on 1 May with a solemn procession in which, besides the relic of the saints, the banner of the patron saints is carried.

The first news of the Sagra delle fragole (Strawberry Festival) documented in the municipal archives dates from 1922: the strawberry, in its two varieties, «in season» and «ever-bearing», has been a characteristic product of Nemi for centuries, and the Nemi strawberries were sung in the famous Roman-dialect song «Na gita a li Castelli».
