Every June, for Corpus Domini, Via Italo Belardi becomes a carpet of flowers covering nearly two thousand square metres: Genzano's Infiorata, documented since 1778, is the mother of all flower festivals — a collective artwork that occupies the town for days and vanishes in one evening. It is the moment the Castelli Romani stage their most famous show.
The other pride smells of the oven: Genzano's wood-fired casareccio bread was the first in Europe to earn IGP protected status. The town slopes toward Lake Nemi among villas and rustic fraschetta taverns: eating well here is a statistical certainty.
