The patron of San Lorenzo Nuovo is Saint Lawrence the martyr (san Lorenzo martire), celebrated on 10 August; on 11 August, in the old town, together with the patronal feast, the fiera di San Lorenzo (Saint Lawrence fair) is held. The municipality holds the Chiesa di San Lorenzo Martire.
Every 8 September the Madonna di Torano is celebrated: three girls of the village, chosen by lot the year before, the signore di Torano, carry the sacred image in procession from the Chiesa di San Lorenzo Martire to the church of the same name in the countryside, where, once mass has been celebrated, the young people take part in the games of youth, traditional games such as the sack race or tug of war. On 14 September the Festa del SS. Crocifisso is celebrated, the wooden crucifix in the church of San Lorenzo Martire, dating back to the 12th century.
