The patron saint of Lonato del Garda is Saint John the Baptist, celebrated on 24 June in the Basilica dedicated to him.
From the cult of Saint Anthony comes the ancient agricultural fair held on 17 January every year, the day when the animal blessing is also given on the church square. Since 2009, also from the church square, the procession of the Palio di Sant'Antonio, or Palio delle Contrade, sets off and takes place in the Piazza della Torre: eight teams compete for the palio in five traditional games, also braving the winter weather. On the Saturday closest to 15 October, the anniversary of the translation of the miraculous image of the Madonna is also celebrated. The town also holds the Rocca di Lonato and the Castello di Drugolo.
