The patroness of Besana in Brianza is Saint Catherine, celebrated on 25 November in the Church of Santa Caterina, which also gives its name to the historic Fiera di Santa Caterina: an exhibition of farm machinery, livestock and stalls of every kind.
Co-patron is the Most Holy Crucifix, a highly venerated 16th-century wooden crucifix, celebrated with its own patronal feast on the second Sunday of October. The church also holds fine frescoes in the baptistery and apse, as well as a manual-drawbar organ by Biroldi. The municipal territory also holds the Monastery of Santi Pietro e Paolo and Villa Raverio.
