The monument of the village is a small parish church dedicated to Saint Apollinaris, first bishop of Ravenna. The archaeological survey puts the first building at around the year one thousand, and in 1119 a community of Benedictine nuns who had settled beside it enlarged it. San Carlo Borromeo came through in the middle of the fifteen hundreds and left word that it had to be enlarged again, to fit more people in; frescoes date from that moment, and in one of them Borromeo himself is at prayer, next to an older triptych, of 1505. Behind the baroque altar there is an agony in the garden of Gethsemane without Christ: the figure was taken away when they opened the niche that holds a wooden statue of the Addolorata.
The name comes from the dialect words croeus or cros, the tracks dug into the hillside. On the map of the duchy of Milan frescoed in the Gallery of Maps, in the Vatican Museums, the place appears as Crucion. In the arms there is an uprooted oak with nineteen golden acorns, and through its trunk a cogwheel. The restoration of the church took years: from 2012 the structure was made safe, and work went on over the frescoes until 2019, bringing others to light along the way, dated 1607. From the square you can see Monte Rosa; and in that same square, since 2007, there has been a music academy that teaches from babes in arms to adults.
