The patron saint of Fabriano is Saint John the Baptist, celebrated on 24 June.
Since 1995, on 24 June, the Palio di San Giovanni Battista is held, a folk event created alongside a historical re-enactment: a competition among the town's four quarters, called Porte, based on traditional games. The town also holds the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Grotta and the Hermitage of Grottafucile, set amid the greenery of Monte Fano.
