The patron of Acquaviva Picena is Saint Nicholas of Bari, celebrated on 6 December.
Between July and August, steadily organized since 1988, the Sponsalia are held: a historical costume re-enactment commemorating the marriage between Forasteria d'Acquaviva and imperial vicar Rainaldo di Brunforte, celebrated in 1234. The programme includes the Palio del Duca, a chivalric skill competition between the town's two historic districts. The town also holds the Rocca di Acquaviva Picena and the Church of San Rocco.
