The patron of Montemonaco is Saint Benedict, celebrated on 21 March.
Following a vow made by the community in the wake of the great seventeenth-century plague, the feast of Saint Sebastian is held every 20 January, with a procession, even in storm and snow, that descends from Montemonaco to the church; among the sites of the municipality are Monte Vettore and the castle walls.
