This Marche municipality received its current name in 1931, when Benito Mussolini rebranded the town of Pausula to honor Filippo Corridoni, an interventionist syndicalist killed on October 23, 1915. Today, fragments of the original defensive walls still wrap around the historic center.
Located eight kilometers southeast of Macerata, Corridonia is home to around 15,300 residents. The town features a dense concentration of monumental buildings, led by the parish church of Saints Peter, Paul and Donato, which contains an attached art gallery. Visitors can also view the Church of San Claudio al Chienti, Sant'Agostino, and the historic Monastery of the Zoccolanti.
