The patron saint of Castelnuovo Scrivia is Saint Desiderius, celebrated on 23 May.
The municipal territory holds the Castello dei Torriani e dei Bandello and the Church of Santi Pietro e Paolo, as well as the votive Chapel of the Madonna di Marzo. The town also holds a 17th-century arch.
