Feast of Saint Peter
📅 Every year, on 29 June
On 29 June Pallanzeno, a municipality of 1,176 inhabitants in the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, celebrates its patron Saint Peter.
In the Middle Ages Pallanzeno was a village tied to Vogogna, and grew only with time. During the Second World War it was still a place of vines and grain fields, with many working in the factories of Villadossola. The arms say the same: three golden ears of rye above a silver band, and a mountain rising from the base.
The Toce runs beside the village; on its banks you can still see the old river country of the Ossola, with wild rabbits, foxes and birds, and the hydroelectric plant works on the water. Among the houses stands the church of San Pietro, its stone front and the bell tower carrying the clock.
