The patron saint of Martano is Saint Dominic de Guzmán, celebrated on 8 August; the co-protector, the Most Holy Mary of the Assumption, is celebrated on 15 August.
The Sunday following 2 February holds the «Candelora» fair; the second Sunday after Easter holds the «Teofilo» district feast; the third Sunday after Easter holds the «Madonnella» feast. In February, the religious celebrations for Our Lady of Lourdes are also held in the parish of Maria SS. del Rosario. The town also holds the Monastery of Santa Maria della Consolazione and the Casale di Apigliano.
