On 28 August Alà dei Sardi, a municipality of 1,947 inhabitants in the province of Sassari, celebrates its patron Sant'Agostino.

The patron of Alà dei Sardi is Sant'Agostino, celebrated on 28 August for a long time already, as shown by a poem by Pietro Pisurzi, a poet of Bantine who died in 1799.

The feast of San Francesco is one of the most important in the area and welcomes thousands of faithful every year: it is held on 4 and 5 October in the sanctuary of the same name, 2 km from the village, and dates from the early twentieth century. The novena begins on 25 September, with the faithful walking from the village to the sanctuary, and on the evening of 2 October, after mass, a torchlight procession takes place; the celebrations continue with Sardinian dances and songs and musical shows.
