On 24 June Masainas holds the traditional feast of Saint John the Baptist, with civil and religious celebrations; the municipality holds the Vecchia Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista.
The feast in honour of the Madonna della Salute, patroness of the town, is one of the most eagerly awaited in the Sulcis: according to tradition, at the beginning of October every year thousands of pilgrims reach Masainas to take part in the civil and religious celebrations, which last several days. Every year in April, since 2003, the Sagra del carciofo (artichoke sagra) is also held.
