The patroness of Aragona is Our Lady of the Rosary, celebrated on 7 October, with the church of the same name at the heart of the town. The local feast calendar is rich throughout the year: in January the feast of Saint Anthony Abbot is held, with the blessing of animals, tastings of typical products in the «Furca Vò» district and a closing cavalcade; in February the Aragonese Carnival takes place, with a parade of allegorical floats; in March the feast of Saint Joseph the Worker is celebrated, with a procession of the saint, fireworks and the traditional «Tavulata».
The territory of Aragona is best known for the Macalube integral nature reserve, famous mud volcanoes among the most important in Europe; the town also preserves traces of its feudal past in the Barrugeri castle and the church of the Most Holy Crucifix.
