The patron of Giovo is the Assumption of Mary, celebrated on 15 August in the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. The town's hamlets and churches also venerate other patrons, including Saint Anthony the Abbot in Verla, on 17 January, and also Saint Valentine, Saint Nicholas, Saint Romedius, Saint Florian, Saints Roch and Sebastian, and Saint George.
The last weekend of September, in Verla di Giovo, comes the Festa dell'Uva: after a Friday and Saturday with food and wine stands, painting and sculpture exhibitions, talks and an evening festival, it closes on Sunday with a parade of allegorical floats. The third weekend of July, again in Verla, comes the Sagron, and the fourth weekend, in Palù, the Madonna feast with the Madonna del Carmine procession. The town holds Castel Giovo and overlooks Monte Corona.
