The patron of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza is Mary Assumed into Heaven, celebrated on 15 August.
The municipality was created on 1 January 2016 from the merger of Fiera di Primiero, Siror, Tonadico and Transacqua, and is the largest in Trentino by area, spanning more than 200 km². Among its hamlets, San Martino di Castrozza is the highest at 1,450 metres, while Pieve is the lowest at 700 metres. The territory includes peaks such as the Cimon della Pala and the Cima della Madonna.
