Feast of Saints Peter and Paul
📅 Every year, on 29 June
On 29 June Imer, a municipality of 1,183 inhabitants in the province of Trento, celebrates its patrons Saints Peter and Paul.
The mountainside facing south, above Imèr, is called the Solivi, because the sun strikes it; the shaded slopes opposite are the Pusterni. The Solivi were a huge meadow with apple, pear and peach trees, walnuts, cherries and apricots set out in rows. Then, with the post-war boom, people stopped keeping cattle and stopped mowing: the hay was no longer needed, and the wood has taken almost all of it back.
On the Vederna alp, in 1742, sixty-three men of Imèr formed a consortium: they divided the alp into as many parcels and passed them round in rotation, ten years each. The rotation is gone, but the consortium is not, and the right passes only down the male line: a man who had only daughters loses it. How many vesini dela Vederna there are today is hard to say.
