Feast of Saint Michael
📅 Every year, on 29 September
On 29 September Ronzo-Chienis celebrates Saint Michael; the municipal territory also preserves an Upper Palaeolithic and Mesolithic archaeological site.
In 1920 there were five comuni here: Pannone, Manzano, Nomesino, Ronzo and Chienis. In 1924 Pannone swallowed them all; then, in 1971, Manzano, Nomesino and Pannone itself passed to Mori, and the comune was left with only the other two villages. So Pannone, without Pannone any more, had to change its name: Ronzo-Chienis.
The village stands at a thousand metres, in the val di Gresta, with the Stivo to the north, the Biaena to the east and the Creino to the west, and lake Garda some ten kilometres away as the crow flies: near enough to be felt in the weather. The valley is known throughout Trentino for its organic vegetables — potatoes, cabbages, carrots, beans — and for more than forty years it has held a show and market of them.
