The patron of Suvereto is the Holy Cross, celebrated on 3 May: alongside the patronal festivities, the Palio di Santa Croce is run, once contested on horseback. The town's second palio, that of the Emperor, is run instead on 13 August.
In the 1970s the tradition was revived on the occasion of the local Sagra del Cinghiale (Wild Boar Festival), with archery contests and a historical procession. The town holds the Church of the Santissimo Crocifisso, the Pieve di San Giusto and the Rocca Aldobrandesca.
