The patron saint of Massarosa is Saint James, celebrated on 25 July in the church of Santi Jacopo e Andrea.
The municipal territory also holds the parish church of San Pantaleone at Elici, the church of San Martino and that of Santa Lucia. Among the town's places of interest are also Villa Martellini and the Massaciuccoli thermal baths, which have made use of the area's hot springs since Roman times.
