The patron of Longarone is Saint Mary Immaculate, celebrated on 8 December in the Church of Santa Maria Immacolata.
In December 1959, the town gave rise to the first Gelato Fair: Longarone today hosts the International Handmade Gelato Exhibition (MIG), also thanks to the over-century-old tradition of local families of ice cream makers. The town also holds the Castello della Gardona and the Campanile di Pirago.
