Borgo Veneto

Province: Padua · Region: Veneto · Population: 6,981 · Postal code: 35046

Borgo Veneto was to be called Quattroville, and to be made of four villages. In 2017 Megliadino San Fidenzio, Megliadino San Vitale, Saletto and Santa Margherita d'Adige had asked their citizens whether to merge and what to call themselves: out of Atesia, Borgo Veneto, Fiumana and Quattroville, Quattroville had won. Then, at the referendum of December 2017, Megliadino San Vitale said no — 519 against and 318 in favour — and its no was respected.

So the municipality born on the seventeenth of February 2018 is made of three villages, and carries the name that came second in the survey: Quattroville, four towns, no longer worked with three. The town hall is at Saletto. The provisional coat of arms, pending the official one, puts the three old shields together under a mural crown, and at ceremonies the three former banners are still used.
