Positioned just 7 kilometres northwest of Padua and 40 kilometres west of Venice, Rubano covers a modest area of 14.6 square kilometres. It shares a direct border with the provincial capital, acting as a geographic link toward western municipalities such as Mestrino and Saccolongo.
The town is home to roughly 15,600 people. Settlement is divided between the main urban center and three local hamlets—Bosco di Rubano, Sarmeola, and Villaguattera—spread across the flat expanse of the Veneto plain.
