The patron saint of Vigonza is Saint Sebastian, celebrated on 20 January.
By decree of the President of the Republic of 26 June 2015, recognising the importance of the Vigonza territory within the urban belt of Padua for its position, population, activities and history, the Municipality of Vigonza was granted the status of city. The parish church of Santa Margherita, dedicated to Margaret of Antioch, was built between 1834 and 1837 to a design by Jacopo Sacchetti and partly rebuilt after damage suffered during the Second World War. In the hamlet of Peraga also stands an 18th-century villa, built on the remains of the Castello dei Da Peraga.
