The patron saint of Valdagno is Saint Clement, celebrated on 23 November in the town's cathedral, built in the 18th century on the square of the same name.
Set into the back wall of the sacristy is the large Ancona di San Clemente, a painted stone polyptych bearing the date 1445. The cathedral also holds nine prized «alla veronese» bells tuned to C3. Valdagno is first mentioned in a document from 1179 relating to the church of San Quirico; the town's name comes from the Agno stream that flows through it.
