The patron of Isola del Gran Sasso d'Italia is Saint Maximus, celebrated on the first Sunday of May in the Church of San Massimo.
The town hosts the Shrine of San Gabriele dell'Addolorata, among the most visited pilgrimage sites in Italy, and also holds the Hermitage of San Nicola.
