The patron saint of Garaguso is Saint Gaudentius, celebrated on 14 August.
The core of Garaguso's reconstruction after the 1694 earthquake was the Revertera palace, built for Duke Francesco III Revertera, his son Nicolò Ippolito and his wife Antonia Therhaimbe, dukes of Salandra of Spanish origin. A popular legend, still told in the town today, recounts that on windy days one can hear from the palace the lament of the dukes, still calling for the son who disappeared on a feast day.
