The patron of Amato is Saint Francis of Paola, celebrated on 2 April and every second Sunday of August.
The mother church is dedicated to the cult of the Immaculate Conception, celebrated on 8 December with a procession, and inside it stands the seventeenth-century half-length statue of Saint Francis of Paola, donated to the church by the Mottola marquises; the municipality of 837 inhabitants in the province of Catanzaro also holds the Museo del Borgo.
