The patron saint of Palmi is Saint Nicholas of Bari, celebrated on 6 December in the co-cathedral dedicated to him, facing Piazza Duomo: inside it holds the relic of the Sacro Capello (Holy Hair) and the venerated images of the Madonna della Sacra Lettera and of Saint Nicholas himself.
The town lives a very rich calendar of centuries-old feasts: on 3 May the Holy Crucifix is celebrated, dating from the 17th century; on 13 June, Saint Anthony of Padua, a 19th-century tradition; on 16 July, Holy Mary of Mount Carmel, a centuries-old religious and civic event that has twice received the attention of the magazine «La Domenica» from Edizioni San Paolo; on 5 August, Holy Mary of Succour; on 16 August, Saint Roch, with the distinctive «corteo degli spinati» procession. On 16 November, the anniversary of the «miracle» linked to the 1894 earthquake is also commemorated. The town also holds the Duomo di Palmi and the Nicola Antonio Manfroce Theatre.
