The patron of Guardia Sanframondi is Saint Philip Neri, celebrated on 26 May.
Periodically, every seven years, an unusual religious event known as the Septennial Rites of penance in honour of the Assumption is held, celebrated in the week following 15 August. A large group of penitents, the Battenti, take part in the Sunday procession, wearing white robes and hoods to renew an ancient medieval rite of penance. The town also holds the Castello dei Sanframondo and the Domus Mata.
