The patron of Casal di Principe is Maria Santissima Preziosa, celebrated on 12 September; she is venerated in the church dedicated to her, shared with the parish of the same name.
On 8 September 1908 her effigy was solemnly crowned for the first time, and in 2008, for the centenary, the ceremony was repeated in the town stadium before Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe and some thirty thousand people. On the Tuesday after Easter a procession carries the image from the church of the Santissimo Salvatore to that of Maria Santissima Preziosa.
